An event type (also called an appointment type or service type) is a configurable meeting template that defines parameters for a specific appointment category. Settings include duration, location (in-person, video, phone), availability windows, buffer times, questions asked during booking, payment requirements, and confirmation messages. Each event type gets its own booking page. Examples include '30-minute discovery call', '60-minute consultation', or 'Group class session'. Most businesses run several side by side: a medical practice might offer a 60-minute 'New Patient Exam', a 15-minute 'Follow-Up' and a 30-minute 'Telehealth Consultation', each with its own price, provider and intake questions.
