Collective Scheduling
A scheduling method that finds times when all required attendees are available for a group meeting.
Definition
Collective scheduling (also called collective booking or mutual availability scheduling) is a system that identifies time slots where multiple team members are simultaneously available. Unlike round robin where one person from a pool is selected, collective scheduling requires ALL specified team members to attend the meeting. The booking page only shows times when every required participant has availability, ensuring scheduled meetings work for everyone involved.
Examples of Collective Scheduling
A sales discovery call requiring both an account executive and solutions engineer
An interview panel where all 3 interviewers must attend
A project kickoff with the designer, developer, and project manager
A family therapy session requiring both the therapist and family counselor
Why Collective Scheduling Matters
Without collective scheduling, coordinating multi-person meetings requires manual back-and-forth that wastes hours. Clients see a confusing experience of suggesting times that get rejected. Collective scheduling automates this coordination, showing only times that actually work and eliminating rescheduling.
How SchedulingKit Handles Collective Scheduling
SchedulingKit's collective event types let you require multiple team members per booking. Simply select which team members must attend, and the booking page automatically merges their calendars to show only mutually available slots.
