Illustrative Workflow: How a Yoga Studio Could Sell Memberships Online
Illustrative scenario modeled on typical customer results — not a single verified account
This is an illustrative workflow based on a composite studio, not a measured customer result. It shows how SchedulingKit packages and recurring packages could replace spreadsheets and punch cards for class packs and memberships.
This case study explores how A Neighborhood Yoga Studio used SchedulingKit to overcome scheduling challenges in the yoga studio industry. By implementing Packages & Memberships, Gift Cards, Group & Class Booking, and Payment Processing, they achieved measurable improvements in efficiency, revenue, and customer satisfaction.
Illustrative outcomes (not measured results)
In this illustrative workflow, students buy packs and memberships on the booking site instead of on paper
Package balances update as students book
Memberships renew on schedule without staff processing payments
The Challenge
In this scenario, the studio has plenty of drop-in students but struggles to turn them into regular members. Memberships are tracked on a spreadsheet, class passes are paper punch cards that get lost, gift cards are made by hand, and buying a membership means filling out a paper form at the front desk.
The Solution
On the Pro plan, the studio creates packages in SchedulingKit: a 10-class pack (session credits), an intro pack for new students, and a monthly membership set up as a recurring package billed through Stripe. Students buy packages on the booking site and use them when booking classes, and they can check their remaining balance in the client portal. For gifts, the studio issues gift cards from Finance → Gift Cards and emails the code to the recipient, who redeems it when booking; clients can't buy gift cards online. Classes are Group event types with capacity limits.
