Twilio and SchedulingKit SMS
SchedulingKit sends appointment confirmations and reminders through Twilio, so most businesses don't need a Twilio account at all. Sending from your own Twilio account or Messaging Service is supported by the system but doesn't have a settings screen yet.
How the connection works
You don't need a Twilio account to send SMS; SchedulingKit's built-in SMS already runs on Twilio. Sending through your own Twilio account (Account SID, Auth Token and a phone number or Messaging Service SID) is supported behind the scenes but has no self-serve settings screen yet. Contact us if you need it.

For most businesses, set up SMS in Settings → Notifications; no Twilio account needed.
Need your own Twilio?
Contact us with your requirements. There's no self-serve screen for your own credentials yet.
Configure messages
Templates, timing and opt-in work the same as SMS Notifications.
Twilio workflows
SMS confirmations
Booking confirmations, reminders, cancellations and reschedules are sent as SMS to clients who opt in on the booking form, on the Standard plan and above. Delivery depends on carriers and destination countries; SchedulingKit doesn't guarantee delivery to every number worldwide. Texts sent through your own Twilio account still use your plan's SMS credits.
WhatsApp reminders
SchedulingKit doesn't send WhatsApp reminders. Having a Twilio account doesn't change that: there's no WhatsApp reminder workflow in SchedulingKit.
Voice reminders
SchedulingKit doesn't place automated voice reminder calls. Phone calls handled by the AI receptionist are a separate add-on and aren't appointment reminders.
