How to Cancel Acuity Scheduling
Acuity has two billing routes. Open Manage Billing or your account profile and check the address: squarespace.com uses Squarespace-managed billing; acuityscheduling.com uses Acuity-managed billing. Cancellation timing and continued booking access differ. Use a computer or mobile browser, not the Acuity Admin App.

How to Cancel Acuity Scheduling
Follow these steps to cancel your Acuity Scheduling subscription
Log in and identify your billing route
Sign in using your existing Acuity or Squarespace login. Account owners and contributors with Admin or Billing permission can cancel. Legacy Acuity logins still exist; a migration is not required just to cancel.
Open the appropriate billing panel
For Acuity attached to a Squarespace site, open the site Billing panel. For standalone Squarespace-managed Acuity, open the account dashboard card menu (three dots) and Billing. For Acuity-managed billing, select Manage Billing or your account profile.
Select your Acuity subscription
In a Squarespace site Billing panel, select Scheduling under Subscriptions; for standalone billing, select the Acuity subscription. In Acuity-managed billing, scroll to Current Plan.
Click "Cancel" or "Downgrade"
Select Cancel Subscription. For a Squarespace website subscription, then select Cancel Scheduling Subscription and Confirm. For Acuity-managed billing, select Confirm Cancellation; this immediately moves the account to the legacy free plan.
Confirm and save proof
Save the confirmation and verify the effective date. Squarespace-managed subscriptions normally end at the billing-cycle end unless immediate cancellation is chosen; Acuity-managed cancellation takes effect immediately. Retain billing records and any refund confirmation.

Export Your Data First
Make sure to save your important data before canceling Acuity Scheduling
Export appointments through Reports > Import/Export: choose dates, cancelled-appointment inclusion and intake forms, then Export appointments; export clients separately through Clients > Import/export > Export client list
Save the client and appointment CSV files. For package/gift/subscription orders, open Packages, Gifts & Subscriptions > View Orders > Export All; the order export excludes manually/API-generated codes and includes only the first subscription payment
Save copies of your custom intake forms and email templates (screenshot or copy text)
Note your calendar sync settings and any API integrations you've configured
What Happens After You Cancel Acuity Scheduling
Squarespace-managed accounts stop accepting bookings when the subscription ends; Acuity-managed accounts immediately downgrade to the legacy free plan, which still permits online booking
Squarespace-managed accounts can view past appointments and export client data after cancellation, but cannot edit or book; Acuity-managed legacy free accounts retain their data
After a Squarespace-managed subscription ends, existing appointments are not cancelled but reminder and follow-up emails stop
Export intake-form answers and package/gift/subscription records before changing plans. The legacy free plan excludes packages/gifts/subscriptions and automatically cancels active client subscriptions; saved paid settings become accessible again after upgrading

Can't find Acuity billing in Squarespace
Legacy Acuity accounts can manage billing directly. Open Manage Billing or the account profile and check whether the address uses acuityscheduling.com or squarespace.com; follow that route rather than assuming an account migration is needed.
Subscription still active after attempting cancellation
Check the applicable billing panel and effective date: Squarespace-managed cancellation can be scheduled for cycle end, while Acuity-managed cancellation is immediate. If renewal remains enabled unexpectedly, contact Acuity support with the confirmation.
Lost client data after downgrade
Cancellation is separate from permanent deletion. Squarespace-managed cancelled accounts allow past appointment viewing and client-data export; Acuity-managed legacy free accounts save account data. Contact support if records are missing rather than paying for an upgrade without checking access first.
